With regular captain Yeti returning to the side, Cossonay tigers started their Swiss league campaign against GRYCC at En Marche, Cossonay. Opting to bat, GRYCC opening batsman struggled against the pace and swing of Himank and Manoj, but it took a direct hit from Ian Bews to end the opening partnership. Himank then went on to knock over 2 other GRYCC batsmen to reduce them to 27 for 3 in 12 overs. Gnanasekaran Thoppae and Adithya then supported the efforts of the opening bowlers by picking up 5 wickets to leave GRYCC in disarray. The brilliant bowling performance was completed when Himank returned to pick up couple more wickets to finish with 4 for 18. GRYCC folded for 115. The only negative aspect of Cossonay’s performance today was the 7 catches that were dropped.

During the chase, the GRYCC players put in a spirited performance and picked up regular wickets to reduce cossonay to 60 for 5 in the 15th over after which Ian Bews and Gnanasekaran Thoppae combined to take the score to 100 for 5 by the 20th over. Ian’s fall for a well made 33 sparked a collapse but Gnana managed to guide the team home to a victory in 23.2 overs.
