U13sUnder a glorious sun and amidst the hubub from an adjacent football tournament, Cossonay U13s recorded a resounding win against their counterparts from Gingins.

The performance was all the more impressive as the vast majority of the runs came off the bat, with the Gingins bowlers conceding very few extras to the home side. Another key feature of the innings was clear calling between the batsmen and regular rotation of the strike.

Cossonay batted positively from the start with Greg Foster (14) and Arnav Sandu (17) putting the rival bowlers under immediate pressure. Greg's dismissal brought in one of CCC's U11s, Thomas Bews, who went on to make an
unbeaten 30 not out (retired) including 3 fours. With Arnav run out on a misjudged single, Nathan Ryan and Ryan Whitlow came together with the latter making his first appearance of the season. Nathan continued the momentum of his colleagues by cracking a crowd-pleasing straight six and Ryan blasted 3 sixes and a 4 before being dismissed for a quickfire 27. U11 Sebastien Lodge and debutant Jackson Vickerstaff then saw the innings neatly through to completion at 127-4.
A disciplined bowling and impressive fielding performance followed from CCC seeing Gingins bowled out for 62. Notable performances with the ball came from pacemen Greg Foster and Nathan Ryan, followed by a very promising bowling effort from another U11, Liam Vickerstaff.
