Cossonay Cricket Club made waves in 2019!
In the year of its 30th anniversary, the Club garnered a lot of media attention - more so because it hosted the grand finale of the Cricket Switzerland Premier League. "So British!" event at Coop Leman Centre, Crissier (Lausanne)
Cossonay CC are taking part in the "So British!" event at Coop Leman Centre, Crissier. The club accepted an invitation from the Swiss Supermarket chain to promote Cossonay CC and the Swiss Cricket Association as part of a roadshow promoting British culture and products. Photo: Sebastien Lodge demonstrating sound defence under the guidance of the CCC junior coach Ian BEWS at Leman Centre. The promotion runs for 2 weeks from 6th June and sees the Club manning a stand (near Ochsner Sport) displaying cricket equipment and CCC memorabilia. With posters, cricket demos and a tv showing continuous cricket action, the effort has certainly stirred the interest of the locals triggering numerous questions about how the game is played, whilst the braver ones even had a go at wielding the willow. |

Source: Ian Bews, Cossonay Cricket Club Once again Cossonay took part in the Zuoz (near St Moritz) 3 day invitational tournament on the last weekend of May. It was an opportunity to play lots of cricket & gain invaluable match experience. Despite an occasionally chilly wind, the weather remained dry and all the boys enjoyed the experience. Cossonay fielded an U15 side whilst 2 boys guested for other clubs. This included Cossonay's Thomas Bews who took the award for Best U11 batsman in the tournament, scoring 115 runs in 6 innings & getting out only once in the process (average 115 !). | ![]() ![]() Photos: Tom in batting & bowling action at the tournament.
